The Boards I Have Owned

Windsurfer One Design

Back then was there any other board to start on. A board that was great for free style, indistructable and with a black plastic bag and a few weigts you could change the rocker line.

Sailboard Race (div II)

My first div II, a rather large board that was heavy due to being filled with foam mind you that made it strong, it was able to with stand direct hits when playing tag.

Lang Lang (div II)

A Malaysian made div II, it was hollow except for some foam around the mast box, fast bellow 10 knots over 15 knots the ride got a bit hairy. Had to drain it after every use.

Misteral Takeoff

The original twinser/no-nose, with retracting fins, great funboard to learn to jump, carve jibe.

Sailboard 295

How can one forget the double winger swallow tail, and what about that fin it looked good but not much else. Mind you it was a nice board to sail except that it delaminated and I split mine in half at lease I got a warrenty claim on it which I used to replace it with an F2 Bullet.

F2 Bullet

Now this was a nice board. I had some really good sails on it. I sold it too cheap and too soon but that’s always the way.

Elite 250 (Custom)

The once Scottish custom board (now made in Cornwall). The great think about these boards is they were built tough, something that is hard to find in a custom board now. To much emphases is put on weight, I would give away a few kilos for strength any day it only affects your acceleration and probably increases your top end speed.

F2 Lighting

I hardly sailed this before I traded it in, but I think it was a good board.

Tiga 295

Heavy but tough .

Elite 295 (Custom)

Great board I used it with 4.5 - 6.5 for wave to flat water blasting it did every thing well I liked this board. The first board to carry Legless logo.

Bic Electric Rock

Another great board has to be a classic good at everything, why because it was short with a bit of extra volume pity it did not have a strong fin box (I rolled the box good thing it was under warranty.). It gave me my first accidental forward loop attempt (got round did not sail away) at Cramond (great wave spot in an easterly which is pretty rare)

Tiga 275

Meant to be a slalom board I used it as a bump and jump / wave board, boy I got some big jumps out of it the heel dent were testament to that.

Hybrid 270 (Custom wave)

Great wave board just weak as shit construction. I sold this board to a mate in Yeppoon who was sailing it one day and had a collision with another mate his board a no-nose slalom penetrated the center of the hull and came out the deck just below the deck box then broke off the nose. I have no idea how it happened but it was a fun sight seeing my old hybrid with the nose of the other board sticking out the deck.

Hybrid 290 (Custom Race)

Fast, big jumps great in the waves so long as you don't try to turn to fast on a wave face, as the rails seem to catch. I am onto my third power box second deck box and I split it in half when I came in for a lay-down jibe totally overpowered on a 7 m V8 as I went round the wind caught the sail and tried to flip it but the end of the boom caught the water, the boom snapped in half causing me to be flung forward my knee impacting on the deck of the board splitting it in two. Good thing it was my inside jibe as my sail was shredded to.

Bombora 335

A crap cheap plastic board, I bought to teach an ex-fiancée to windsurf , big mistake both buying the board and the EX.

Hardcore 292 (Custom Race 160l)

Big, floaty fast, but not strong, great on flat water big tail make jibe easy. I need to replace the power box.

Tiga 288

Fast, but I rolled the fin box with in a mouth so I got it replaced with the NSX on warranty.

NSX 270 course slalom (custom)

Submarine, well for me anyway but when it reaches the surface eventually it bloody fast.
